Tiguera

Painted as part of the Welling Walls mural festival in Astoria, NY.
Inspired by reclaiming the term “Tiguera” and becoming the main character of our stories.
Size: 11ft by 8ft

In partnership with Central Astoria LDC, was hired to design and execute a mural outside of Premiere Performing Arts in Astoria, that would encompass both PPA and Medusa’s businesses.
Inspired by the greek goddess Medusa, the 20s, old Hollywood glamour and theater.
Size: 25ft by 12ft

In partnership with NYC Parks and the National Audubon Society, I was commissioned to create a mural featuring the native plants and an endangered bird species.
Featured here is the Tennessee Warbler alongside Spotted Joe Pye, Swamp Milkweed, Blue Vervain, and Obedian Plant. Plus featured guests Monarch butterflies which often frequent some of these native plants.
Location: Dolorinda Lisante Community Garden in the Bronx.

Inspired by quilts and the title of this special gathering space for the World’s Borough Bookshop: “La Esquina”. I thought about being cozy in a blanket or on sitting on a rug while someone shares their stories.
This corner outside of the bookshop in Jackson Heights, NY is a space used for gathering and story telling by some of the authors the owner carries in his shop. I also liked that a quilt traditionally is another way of story telling and passing down traditions through generations, which makes it the perfect design for this space.
I was also one of the recipients of the 2024 Queens Arts Fund: New Work Foundation and this was the project I pitched and used the funds to bring to life.

Inspired by the community of Queens, Helping Hands is a reminder of the diverse people in Queens who come together and support each other.
Located outside of Ottomanelli’s in LIC and chosen as one of 5 artists in the first round of murals out of 200+ submissions.

Earth and Me, a local sustainability focused store in Astoria on Steinway street commissioned me to create a mural in their public backyard garden that represents growth, nature and community.

Commissioned through Poppy and Lynn’s wedding planning service to design a digitally illustrated “stumple upon” mural for a marriage proposal for one of their clients.
